I’m so glad you’re here.
Hello and welcome! I'm Doula Katie, the heart and soul of Calm Waves Doula Care. My journey into motherhood started with the enlightening, empowering experience of my son's home birth. This profound personal experience transformed my understanding of pregnancy, birth and motherhood, leading me to become a doula—a guide and companion to other women navigating this incredible journey.
Katie made all the difference with my postpartum season! Her care and service was absolutely invaluable to myself and my family. She brought such a warm, selfless, and calming presence to our home, not to mentioned all the thoughtful treats and goodies. Everything she offers is deeply intentional and mother-focused, but my husband was also so grateful for everything she had done for us from making delicious, nourishing meals, to keeping our laundry going, to making our kitchen look spotless. These things took a huge burden off of us! I was particularly thankful for the relaxing massages, space to talk about all things birth and baby, and the opportunity to be one on one with my toddler while she loved on my newborn.
I definitely would have regretted not hiring Katie! She has put in so much work to knowing how to best care for and nourish mother’s and help them thrive in this very special, sometimes difficult season of life, and it shows. I couldn’t imagine a more peaceful and blessed postpartum season.

About Calm Waves Doula Care
My Philosophy
I embrace a holistic and natural approach to childbirth and postpartum care, grounded in the belief that birth is a natural, powerful, and deeply personal experience. My services are designed to support the mother-baby dyad, encourage maternal intuition, and promote a smooth transition into the new and exciting role of motherhood.
Why have a doula?
Some benefits of having a doula to support you through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience include: Reduced risk of C-section birth * Reduced risk of induction of labor * Shorter labor * Reduced need for opioids or epidural * Increased likelihood of initiating breastfeeding * Increased parental satisfaction with the birth experience
Here are a few of my favorite things:
*warm, nourishing drinks and a slow morning
*beach walks with my husband, son, and two dogs (at sunset, ideally)
*cooking (and eating) yummy food
*curling up with a good book outside My family moved to the sunshine state a handful of years ago, and we absolutely love spending our time outside with our toes in the sand, butt on grass, hands in the dirt, and souls dancing with the water.
